An interior home inspection serves several important purposes:
The inspector will inspect, interior components including walls, ceilings, floors, steps, stairways, balconies, railing, counters, a representative number of cabinets, and a representative number of doors and windows. The inspector will operate a representative number of primary windows and interior doors, report signs of water penetration into the building, or signs of harmful condensation on building components in areas able to be viewed. Fireplace components, if accessible, will be noted, however determining if the fireplace / wood stove is safe for operation is not part of a visual home inspection. Recommend evaluation of the fireplace / wood stove by a qualified contractor prior to using. Smoke & Carbon Monoxide detectors will be activated using the “test” button only if not connected to an alarm system. Insulation able to be viewed will be reported. If accessible and safe, the attic space, ventilation, and structural components will be viewed and reported on.
